About the Author

Kate Westover was born in England in 1947 and was educated in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St Hugh’s College Oxford. She spent many years working as a volunteer teacher in Trinidad , Tanzania , Madagascar and Rwanda . In 1978 she moved to the USA has written about her experiences working in overseas development.
